Women’s Health and Birth Control

The topic for the August Resource Training was women’s health and birth control.  Betty Elliott, a Certified Nurse Midwife, from New Beginnings, Nurse Midwife Care, at Orem Community Hospital provided information about women’s health issues, hygiene, preventative health measures, and birth control.

New Beginnings is run by Certified Nurse Midwives under the direction of local medical doctors. The midwives provide culturally competent care and specialize in abuse situations.

They offer a wide variety of lifetime health services for women including free pregnancy tests, pregnancy, delivery, and follow up care, pre-marital exams and birth control counseling, and yearly exams, including pap smears and mammograms.

They accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most insurance. They also offer charitable care through the IHC Foundation.

New Beginnings is located at 527 West 400 North, Suite #4, Orem. The phone number is 714-3388.
