"There is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the highest creed."

Groundbreaking

The Food & Care Coalition serves nutritionally well balanced meals 7 days a week to Utah County's homeless, mentally ill and learning disabled, fixed income families, and families affected by tragedy. In 2006, community members contributed canned goods, garden produce, sack lunches, casseroles, desserts, food from catered events, cash and redeemable grocery store gift certificates, paving the way for the program to serve 99,243 meals to our fellow community members.
This remarkable accomplishment would not be possible unless it had vested community interest. Area businesses, church groups, civic groups, scouts, individuals and families donate nearly 15,000 volunteer hours each year. In addition to preparation, serving, and cleanup duties, volunteers often recruit food donors and make frequent donation pickups.
Volunteer opportunities are available 365 days a year, but must be booked in advance. For logistical purposes, anyone wanting to get involved should first schedule with our volunteer coordinator at 373-1825 or email her at nancyw@foodandcare.org.
